Introductory Meeting.

The Introduction meeting is usually 1-2 hours held in your home free of charge. It’s purpose is to insure that everyone reaches a comfort level which is critical before the creative process can begin. During this meeting Jason will learn about your existing environment and discuss your wants and needs for the new space. In return, you will have the opportunity to review his portfolio so that you may better understand his design sensibilities. Lastly, Jason will want to discuss the potential budget and timing for the project. It is always helpful that all key decision makers be present at this initial meeting.

Design Retainer.

Once you are comfortable with both the creative and financial aspects of your project you will be ready to retain Amazing Spaces. Based on the scope of the project, a fixed design fee (retainer) along with a signed “Design Service Agreement” will be necessary in order to initiate the design process. Please contact Jason to learn more about the various levels of service available.

Project Documentation.

This is the critical stage of the process when Jason measures your space (if applicable) and reviews your “wish list” in detail. This is also a good time to share any pictures or documentation that you have collected in preparation for your project. For example, in the case of a kitchen renovation - items such as appliances, storage needs, cooking habits, style, workflow, material preferences, and spatial communication are discussed. It is from this meeting that the design begins to take shape.

Initial Concept.

It usually takes between one and three weeks before Jason’s initial design concept is complete and ready for presentation. This meeting can be held either at your home or at the office of Amazing Spaces. Depending on the complexity of the space, one or more design concepts may be reviewed. This meeting will communicate the vision for the space and begin the process of material selections. If major design revisions are necessary then another design concept review will be scheduled.

Design Development.

Once the initial design concept is accepted then further detailing of the project begins. During this phase, the design as it relates to interior fittings and accessories, exterior moldings and ornamentation, color and texture, is further developed over the course of several meetings. Before final decisions are made, Jason will present the projected project costs as they relate to material selections (cabinetry, countertops, construction costs, etc).

Formal Review.

Once all the decisions have been made a final set of drawings (see example) will be prepared along with the complete project cost. It is during this meeting that all decisions and details are reviewed one final time before the contract documents (if applicable) can be prepared. Final changes are made if necessary.

Material Purchases.

In order to move forward with the purchase of cabinetry from Amazing Spaces LLC, the contract documents (final drawings & “Purchase Agreement”) must be signed and accompanied by a 50% deposit. Lead time for cabinetry ranges between 7 – 12 weeks depending on the manufacturer chosen.

Delivery.

Delivery is supervised by Amazing Spaces so that we can make sure that your cabinetry is complete and free of defects. In the unlikely event any items are damaged or missing; Jason will resolve the issue expeditiously in order to complete your project in a timely manner. Final payment for the materials is due upon delivery.

Installation.

A professional installation of your kitchen is arguably the most important phase of the entire project. A successful installation will showcase your cabinetry and provide many years of trouble free service. Skill and artistry are necessary to make your kitchen look great – a professional installer will have both. Amazing Spaces does not directly provide the labor for the installation but does recommend a select group of craftsmen that they have worked with over the years. Jason will provide a numbered installation plan along with an “Installation Guide” to the contractor/carpenter who will be responsible for the cabinet installation. Jason will make routine visits during the installation and will be available at all times to answer questions and solve any problems that may arise.
